Lift with Boys Town is unique because it delivers universal prevention services for the benefit of all students, parents, teachers and administrators, while also delivering targeted services for students and families who are struggling the most. Regardless of the challenges a school or community faces, we want to help make an immediate positive impact and build on that foundation to achieve ongoing progress.
Lift with Boys Town offers:
- A School Support Specialist (SSS) based full-time at a partnering school
- Skills-building sessions led by the SSS with students who are struggling
- Collaboration with educators to promote positive behaviors and learning
- Intervention with students to address concerning behaviors and academic challenges
- Engagement with students’ parents and referrals to additional support services
In 2023, 199 students from two Title I schools received Lift support services in their classrooms to develop their academic and social skills and promote learning. In addition, 662 students were positively impacted through the Well-Managed Schools educators training, another component of Lift, that helps create positive and supportive classrooms.
We are thrilled to announce that the three Boys Town Florida sites have been awarded state legislative appropriations dollars to support our Lift program for the 2024-2025 school year in three schools in Leon, Seminole and Palm Beach Counties.
“This significant funding will empower us to continue our mission of providing life-changing care to at-risk students and their families across Florida,” said Bethany Lacey, Executive Director. “We extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsors, Senator Simon and Representative Andrade, and other legislative champions for their unwavering support and dedication. Their generosity and commitment are vital to our efforts to create brighter futures for the children and families we serve. Together, we are making a profound difference in our communities. Thank you for believing in the power of our mission and for helping us lift lives up, one family at a time.”
