Chase’s Journey: A Story of Resilience and Triumph

Every child deserves a chance to grow, thrive and be surrounded by love. Chase’s story is one of perseverance, strength and the unwavering support of those who refused to give up on him.

Chase was born into drug addiction, and at just two months old, was diagnosed with multiple vision impairments. His early years were marked by instability as his biological mother struggled with addiction. He never met his biological father.

Chase was placed with his grandmother after he was born. At the age of four, she became ill and other living arrangements had to be made for him. He was placed in foster care and over the next two years was shuffled between 13 different foster homes. He experienced hardship, neglect, unfair treatment and physical abuse by foster siblings.

But Chase’s spirit remained unbroken.

In 2019, after years of adversity, he was reunited with his grandmother. She had worked tirelessly to gain custody. Finally, in 2022, Chase was officially adopted by her. In 2024, Riverside Elementary School referred Chase to Boys Town. Working together, a turning point was Chase’s dedication to improving his coping skills. He learned techniques to manage his frustration.

Chase also made strides academically. For 30 minutes each day, he transitioned into mainstream classes. His grades soared. He passed all his Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, and he maintained near-perfect attendance for the first time ever.

And his success wasn’t limited to the classroom.

He discovered a passion for sports, joining Parkland Buddy Sports and Special Olympics teams. His involvement in athletics not only boosted his confidence but also fostered teamwork and discipline.

Beyond school and sports, Chase built strong connections with family and friends. His relationship with his sister, Lila, flourished. This sense of belonging and stability played a crucial role in his emotional growth.

Chase also found comfort in faith, joining Calvary Chapel. He loved being part of the community, further reinforcing his sense of connection and support.

Today, Chase is doing well, and his success story is a celebration. It is a beacon of hope for anyone facing challenges, proving that with the right tools and mindset, success is always within reach.
