Youth Alumni Spotlight: Tryton Swigart-Johnson

Tryton Swigart-Johnson is a compassionate, creative and driven young professional currently serving as the Senior Relationship Banker-Team Lead at Regions Bank in Tallahassee, Florida. Originally from Washington, Tryton came to Tallahassee in 2006 to live on the Boys Town North Florida Family Home campus. Throughout his time in his Family Home, Tryton grew very close to his Boys Town family. To this day, he still refers to his former Family-Teachers, Aiysha and Wayne Longley, as “Moms" and “Pops." After seven years at Boys Town, Tryton completed the Family Home Program, graduated from Godby High School, aged out of foster care and began living on his own.

After Boys Town, Tryton began working on an associate degree at Tallahassee Community College. Last year, Tryton passed the Florida Life Insurance and Annuity Licensing Test, which allowed him to sell life insurance and annuities in Florida, and he began working full time. He intends to go back to school in the future and get his degree in finance.

Outside of work, Tryton enjoys being active. He plays flag football on the Tallahassee city league team and loves playing basketball with friends. He also enjoys being involved in his community through mentoring and volunteering. Tryton dreams of growing his art brand called Try-Art, where he aims to create a new style of art purposed to inspire all to get involved in the arts. He is eager to begin and scale his future non-profit, Try-Peace, designed to impact at-risk youth, single parent households and individuals struggling with secure housing.

Tryton is resilient and a great personification of Boys Town's values! All of us at Boys Town North Florida are so proud of his accomplishments and look forward to continuing to follow his journey and successes!

Quote from Tryton: “I remember realizing Pops is the first person I wanted to become."
