Snow in the Sunshine State? It seemed almost too good to be true!
Late on a Tuesday night, North Florida was blanketed in about 2 inches of snow, waking Tallahassee residents to a world frozen in time. With roads and schools closed, the snow provided a rare opportunity to slow down, enjoy each other’s company and create unforgettable memories.
Boys Town North Florida’s campus was transformed into a true winter wonderland. For many, it was the first time to see snow in person. From building snowmen and forming snowballs to sledding down the hills, the youth had such a great time. Campus had much more than beautiful snow; it was filled with warm laughter and awe that will not be forgotten.
It quickly became clear this historic snowfall would be remembered for much more than just the snow. It united the community. Regardless of age -- children, youth and adults alike -- everyone experienced a unique sense of wonder, joy and peace. It was a day that will be cherished forever.
