Boys Town North Florida recently hosted its annual Summer Recreation Kick-Off Party, a joyous event marking the end of the 2023-2024 school year. The party was a fantastic opportunity for both kids and staff to come together, celebrate the youth's academic achievements and welcome the summer with open arms.
The event was filled with a variety of fun activities, camaraderie and delicious food. The kids had a blast swimming in the pool, playing basketball and participating in a unique rendition of kickball, which featured slip and slides for the runs and kitty pools as the bases. The inventive game was a highlight, with laughter and splashes echoing throughout the day as everyone enjoyed the outdoor festivities.
In addition to the fun and games, the event also included a special acknowledgment of our graduating high school seniors. Each graduate was celebrated for their hard work and perseverance. To help them transition to the next stage of their lives, they were provided with essentials for their first apartment or dorm room, including bedding, dishes, cookware, cleaning supplies and other household necessities. This generous support was made possible by our Board members and kind-hearted donors who purchased these items from our Amazon Registry.
The success of the day was further ensured by the dedicated volunteers from Maclay School, who served food and facilitated activities, making the event run smoothly and adding to the festive atmosphere.
Overall, the Summer Recreation Kick-Off Party was a huge success. It not only provided a fun-filled day for the kids, but also reinforced the sense of community and support that Boys Town North Florida is known for.
