ART Town is off to an exciting start in 2025, and we are thrilled to announce a special partnership.
Boys Town North Florida has teamed up with Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare’s READ Program. The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (READ) Program is an animal-assisted therapy initiative featuring specially trained dogs and handlers. Through this partnership, Boys Town North Florida’s Art Resources and Training (ART) Town can offer a unique space where youth can develop both their cognitive and emotional skills.
Every week at ART Town, therapy dog Birdie and her handler,
Robin Brock-Ginaldi, bring a collection of books for our youth to enjoy. Birdie
provides companionship, comfort and encouragement, helping youth build
confidence as they read aloud and strengthen their literacy skills. Animal
therapy is just one of many healing methods offered at ART Town, and we are
deeply grateful for this incredible partnership with Tallahassee Memorial
Healthcare.
