This year's Boys Town North Florida Youth Awards Night was filled with inspiration, celebration and joy.
What made the event truly special was the presence of Glen Williams, one of our own Boys Town alumni. Glen, who now serves as an Assistant Family-Teacher, delivered a heartfelt message that resonated with everyone in the room.
Glen’s story is one of perseverance and growth, and he reminded everyone of the importance of never giving up, no matter the obstacles. Glen’s journey is a testament to the power of the Boys Town Model, which he credited with helping him turn his life around.
The evening began with a full awards ceremony, where our youth were recognized for their achievements and growth over the past year. Each award highlighted the hard work, determination and resilience that our youth have shown. The pride on their faces as they walked across the stage was palpable, a reflection of their dedication and the support they’ve received from their families and the Boys Town community.
Following the awards, a citizenship ceremony was held, where our youth took an important step in committing to being responsible, caring members of society. This moment was a powerful reminder of the impact that Boys Town has in shaping the future of our youth, helping them become not just successful individuals, but also contributing members of their communities.
The night concluded with a dance party, where the youth let loose and celebrated their accomplishments. The energy was contagious, with laughter, music and dancing filling the room. It was a perfect way to end an evening that had already been so full of joy and inspiration.
This year’s Youth Awards was not just a celebration of individual achievements, but also a reminder of the strength of the Boys Town community.
