Eli Escrogin, Senior Director of Program Operations at Boys Town New England, has devoted her career to supporting children and families through social services. Her journey began after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. She started as a case manager at a nonprofit social service agency, providing direct care to youth and families and working to prevent DCYF involvement and address mental health issues. Her passion for hands-on support led her to a role in Emergency Services, where she assisted families in crisis.
Eli’s career took a significant turn when she joined the Providence, Rhode Island, school system. The position allowed her to make a meaningful impact on students and their families. However, when funding constraints arose, she sought new opportunities and was drawn to Boys Town New England. Eight years ago, she became the first supervisor for the organization’s inaugural preventative program at the New England site. Her leadership helped the program grow from zero referrals to serving nearly 900 children through the Lift with Boys Town program by 2023.
As Senior Director of Program Operations, Eli oversees all of Boys Town New England’s community-based programs, including In-Home Family Services, Care Coordination Services, Common Sense Parenting and Lift with Boys Town. Her role is crucial in ensuring these programs provide high-quality services for the youth and families they support. She focuses on strategic development, equipping her staff with the tools, training and resources to excel in their roles. Despite challenges such as undercompensation and the demanding nature of social services, she finds immense satisfaction in motivating her team and ensuring families receive the support they need to succeed.
Eli’s dedication to helping children and families is deeply personal, rooted in her experiences as a first-generation immigrant in Providence. Raised in a single-parent household, she witnessed the socio-economic struggles faced by her peers, which fueled her desire to make a difference. Inspired by her mother’s belief in her potential and relentless work ethic, Eli shifted her focus from a planned career in orthodontics to human services, where she found her true calling.
Outside of her role at Boys Town New England, Eli is an active leader in her church, which helps her maintain a balanced work-life dynamic and supports her spiritual growth. She also values time spent with her two young boys and her husband, engaging in family activities every weekend to create lasting memories and traditions. Eli’s journey at Boys Town New England is marked by resilience, passion and a steadfast commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of the children and families she serves.
