Sarah Galvan speaks on the The Rhode Show to talk about the importance of organization

Sarah Galvan, executive director of Boys Town New England, joins The Rhode Show to talk about the importance of the organization.

Boys Town New England’s goal is to strive for every child and family to receive the effective, compassionate care they need to be healthy in body, mind and spirit. Boys Town New England is changing the way America cares for children and families. 100% of donations from local fundraising stay in New England to help children and families.

The Residential Care facility on The Bazarsky Campus in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, welcomes youth with behavioral struggles, many of whom have never experienced a stable home. Foster Care provides training and support to Foster Parents who open their homes to children who need a safe place to live. In-Home Family Services teach families how to handle issues as they arise and how to prevent them from becoming more disruptive, all within the family’s own home. Care Coordination/Visitation connects families to basic local resources.

It also provides a lifeline for children suffering from mental health issues by accessing programs or resources that can provide the best care. Common Sense Parenting helps parents learn new skills, build on their parenting strengths and develop healthy relationships with their children. Hundreds of New England families and children benefit each year from these classes. LIFT Together with Boys Town brings together educators, students, families and Boys Town experts to address students’ social-emotional needs with wraparound services.
