John Etzell Interview

Boys Town Nevada on Local News!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! Recently, Boys Town Nevada has been featured in several prominent media segments, spotlighting our dedication to changing the way America cares for children and families, and the incredible impact we’re making in the community. From back-to-school efforts to mental health awareness and more, Boys Town Nevada has been featured on several news segments to aid children and families who may be facing challenges. These appearances not only highlight our progress, but also raise awareness about the essential work we do.

Earlier this winter season, Boys Town Nevada had the privilege of being featured on Channel 3 News, where our Executive Director, John Etzell, discussed an important and timely topic—seasonal depression in children. During the segment, John spoke candidly about how children can be particularly vulnerable to the impacts of seasonal depression, especially as the days grow shorter and the weather becomes colder. This is a common yet often overlooked issue that affects families during the winter months, and we were honored to bring more awareness to it through this platform. John also shared valuable insights into how families can help children cope with the symptoms of seasonal depression. Viewers were introduced to a variety of coping strategies and tools to help combat the effects of this condition, many of which are routinely taught to patients at the Boys Town Nevada Behavioral Health Clinic. This recognition allowed us to highlight our behavioral health services, which play a crucial role in supporting families through mental health challenges, both seasonal and year-round.

The feature on Channel 3 was just one example of how Boys Town Nevada is working to educate families about navigating mental health crises and providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed. We believe that mental health awareness is critical for breaking down the stigma that so often surrounds these issues, and we are committed to empowering families with the knowledge and tools to help their children thrive.
