April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and every year Boys Town’s Foster Family Services (FFS) set up pinwheels to bring awareness to child abuse prevention. A blue pinwheel display is located at the Pacific Street entrance now through April in support of Child Abuse Awareness month.
In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA) introduced the pinwheel as the new nationwide symbol for child abuse prevention. According to their findings, the pinwheel conveys a sense of playfulness and innocence, serving as a tangible representation of the positive childhoods we aspire for all children.
We extend our appreciation to the employees of our Foster Family Services for their daily dedication to creating a safe haven for children in the foster care system! Click here to learn more about the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign!
