Boys Town announces a partnership with National Service Cooperative (NSA) and Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) to create a national training program for youth. This opportunity will introduce at risk youth to the food service industry at Boys Town campuses across the country. The community will have an opportunity to help with the new program through a fundraising effort.
“The NSC is proud to have Boys Town as our charitable partner to help raise funds through our annual Top Golf event,” said Shari Smith, Vice President, and General Manager of NSC. “Boys Town has provided support and guidance for our youth for over 100 years and the NSC is excited to work with Boys Town and their new Education Center to help educate their students on the many opportunities available in our industry today”.
The program funding will come from an event planned for this fall in San Antonio, TX during the CFESA Annual Conference. On October 11, 2023, a golf event at Top Golf Bay will host the event with a silent auction and raffles that will benefit the program. Registration link listed below.
“This partnership is such a great opportunity for our students and their futures,” said Father Steven Boes, Boys Town National Executive Director. “When our kids have the opportunity to explore various industries and trades, it ignites their curiosity and nurtures their aspirations for finding a career and passion”.
Funds raised will also go towards Boys Town’s new Education Center which will be opening to students in August 2023. The Center will house students who live on campus at Omaha’s original Boys Town.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this innovative program to introduce new skills to Boys Town students that will help develop their skill sets toward a career,” said Heather Price, Executive Director of CFESA. “Skilled trades are the backbone of our country and seeing young adults wanting to enter this field is exciting”.
