The winter season has brought a heartwarming celebration to our community once again! Winter Fest, initially conceived in 2022 as a special gathering for families and youth within Boys Town Louisiana’s Early Head Start program, has grown into a cherished occasion embraced by all. This year, we opened our doors wider, extending a warm invitation to the public and members of its My Community Cares program.
Winter Fest began last year was a special event to welcome families and youth within the Boys Town Early Head Start into the holiday season. This year, Boys Town expanded the invitation to the public and members of its My Community Cares program.
“The holiday time is a perfect time to reflect on our own blessings and seek ways to brighten others’ lives with joy,” says Boys Town Louisiana Executive Director Rashain Carriere. “Every family and child deserves to feel special this time of year, and with this event, we hope to extend that to all of the individuals and families we serve.”
Guests at Winter Fest were treated to an array of holiday spirit including face painting, bounce houses, cotton candy, and even Santa Claus! Community organizations like the New Orleans Parish Library supported the event by providing much-needed resources like clothes and jackets to the children.
Boys Town Louisiana touched the lives of more than 7,600 children and families in Louisiana and provides a wide range of services based on the individual needs of the child and their family.
