Boys Town Central Florida Welcomes Desmond Crayton as Senior Director of Operations

Boys Town is thrilled to announce the return of Desmond Crayton as the new Senior Director of Operations for Boys Town Central Florida. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Crayton brings a wealth of experience and dedication to Boys Town’s mission of transforming the lives of children and families.

Desmond Crayton, a native of New Orleans, LA, and proud father of three, began his journey with Boys Town in 1994 as a Youth Care Worker (YCW) at the Louisiana site. Over his seven-year tenure, he excelled in various roles before leaving Boys Town to pursue graduate studies at the University of New Orleans.

Upon returning to Boys Town in 2002 for the Administrative Training Program, Desmond contributed to sites in New England and Iowa, and worked in In-Home Family Services (IHFS) and Family Home Program on the Home Campus.

In 2011, Crayton joined Boys Town North Florida as the Director of IHFS, achieving 100% retention and staff certification rates. He later became the Director of Family Home, maintaining high occupancy and youth success rates, and played a key role in North Florida’s Family Home Program becoming the first licensed At-Risk Family Home Program in Northwest Florida.

After a brief departure in 2021, Crayton's passion for Boys Town brought him back as the Senior Director of Operations for Central Florida.

“Desmond brings extensive Boys Town experience, boundless energy, and a true passion for the mission,” said Laurie Stern, Executive Director of Boys Town Central Florida. “The vision and leadership skills Desmond has developed over the past 21 years have equipped him exceptionally well for the Senior Director role.”
